  ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
 

Power Weed Control Ltd manages its business to proactively minimise its environmental footprint. Power Weed Control Ltd considers any adverse environmental effects in its planning, decision making and the processes it uses to effectively provide its services. Power Weed Control Ltd aims to minimize the effects of its activities on the physical environment by:
 

 
  • Complying with current and applicable environmental legislation and other requirements, such as approved codes of practice;
  • Providing a safe and healthy workplace and ensuring personnel are properly trained in the appropriate use of all equipment, including safety and emergency equipment;
  • Being an environmentally responsible citizen in the community where we operate, and address any conditions that may endanger health, safety, or the environment;
  • Being aware of our surroundings and adjusting work practices as appropriate e.g. communicating with the community prior to spraying chemicals in their neighbourhood and providing them with an opportunity to provide feedback, which will be investigated and acted upon as appropriate;
  • Considering, identifying and evaluating the potential environmental effects of service requests prior to the acceptance of work from prospective clients;
  • Storing, using and disposing of chemicals and substances strictly in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations;
  • Immediately containing and cleaning up any spills and immediately reporting any spills or site contamination to the appropriate regulatory authorities;
  • Conserving natural resources by adopting pollution prevention practices (eg extending the life of equipment/vehicles through preventive maintenance scheduling; effective planning; employing whole of life evaluation techniques when procuring; and reworking used equipment etc.);
  • Using recyclable or reusable materials wherever practical;
  • Using waste storage and disposal systems and facilities that are acceptable to the communities in which we work;
  • Developing, improving and implementing operations and technologies to minimize waste, and other pollution, minimize health and safety risks, and dispose of waste safely and responsibly;
  • Establishing procedures to ensure all employees are knowledgeable of, understand and comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations;
  • Establishing procedures for periodic review of environmental compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Promptly correcting any practice or condition not in compliance with this policy.
